Hello all,

Well it's been a hectic couple of weeks. I have 2 new mirrors for you and the patterns (including the loopy mirror that I posted last) are live on the site!

The first mirror - bamboo mirror is made from ceramic tiles. It's a great way
to practise cutting your tiles. If you don't know the trick with cutting ceramic with your tile nippers - you cut just in from the edge of the tile. With glass tile cutters, you place the wheels in the middle of the tile and cut. This mirror has been designed slightly differently than the norm as the background is a multitude of colours whilst the bamboo is one colour.

The second piece has been inspired by african print designs. Actually, I'm very inspired by any fabric design that I see at the moment! This piece was made with vitreous glass tiles. It's actually very easy to make and as long as you work neatly, the piece will come out very well.

These pieces were made with supawood - which I've found to be great because it doesn't warp. I've sealed the pieced very well with wood varnish to prevent any moisture from penetrating before I started tiling. The big key to any base that has to carry a lot of weight though, is make sure that the wood is thick enough - this wood is 12 mm thick (0.05 inches)

If you have tried to download a pattern and have any issues, please contact me. I'll e-mail you the pattern immediately - kirsty@mosaicpatternsonline.com.

If anyone would like to leave the list, send me a mail and I will unsubscribe you immediately.

Until next time -

kind regards,
Kirsty Fletcher
